Our tour of Valencia with Kate Redding was a highlight of our Oceania cruise. We had only one day in Valencia, and Kate helped us make the most of it, giving us a great overview and tailoring our tour to our requests. We got a great taste of the old and new, spending time at the incredible futuristic City of Arts and Science, then going back in time to the old city. Kate is a born storyteller, and she shared Valencia’s fascinating history with energy and enthusiasm. We felt like she was a good friend showing us around her adopted and beloved city. We took a break for an horchata and pastry and toured the Lonja, the cathedral area and the market. Kate is a delightful tour guide, whose passion for Valencia and what she does is contagious. We highly recommend her.

This tour w/ Kate was a once in a lifetime opportunity, my boyfriend & I took a day tour on 2-23-14 and it was above & beyond anything I could have ever hoped for. Kate’s experience, historical knowledge, enthusiasm, stories & genuine care sets her apart & her tour shows you all the most amazing sites and many hidden ones you could never find on your own. I will forever be grateful & cherish the memories her & her husband gave us. We left with amazing pictures,an unforgettable experience & a new friend.

Great excursion!! Our guide, Vicente, meet us on time at the port in a clean & comfortable van to seat our party of 6. We toured Europe’s longest underground river inhabited in the Paleolithic period, a preserved Roman road/ruins under a modern building (it is actually the first floor of the building), and the Roman fort overlooking Sagunto. We then had a lunch at a local restaurant where we enjoyed great food and local wine (price not included). Vicente was knowledgeable, professional, spoke excellent English and strove to ensure our excursion was first rate. On a side note, after I booked this excursion Vicente’s wife, Kate (who also does this excursion) called me from Spain to coordinate contact information & get acquainted. A different but extremely enjoyable excursion. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Kate is an amazing tour guide! She is full of knowledge and I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a guide! On her tours, she instantly makes you feel welcome and comfortable! My dad booked a 4 hour Valencia tour for my family on our first day in the city. I was going to be living in Valencia for two months so my parents wanted me to know my way around the city. Kate was one of the first people we had interaction with and she instantly made my parents feel comfortable about leaving me in Spain for two months. It was an incredible start to my trip and I instantly felt better about living in a new country by myself! She taught us so much about Valencia’s history and culture and answered all of the questions we had! We had such a wonderful time on this tour that I booked another tour with Kate during my time in Valencia! We booked the Requena Wine Tour and had another amazing experience with Kate! She was extremely accommodating and planned the perfect day for us!! Valencia Private Tours by Kate are amazing and I highly recommend them to everyone!!!!

I can not say enough good things about our experience with Kate and her husband, Vincente.
They made our time in Valencia special. Kate’s enthusiasm and love of her country goes beyond words. Seeing Valencia through both Kate’s and Vincente’s eyes made the difference between touring and becoming a Valencian. We began our day with Vincente at the amazing Lladro Factory. We have been collecting these marvelous figures for years, and now to see how they are made individually with care by hand and to meet the creators makes them even more special. Of course we had plenty of time to add to our collections while Vincente quietly waited for us to make our choices.
Next unto Sagunto and tour of the Jewish quarter. The area is truly amazing. Vincente pointed out all the important sites as well as giving us full insight into the history of Sagunto and the Jewish population at the time.
That was just the morning !! Then we had the pleasure of meeting Kate and touring modern Valencia after a wonderful and delicious Paella lunch. It was so wonderful to “break bread” with this amazing woman and to gain insight in to her country and her wonderful family. Thank you Kate for a special time.
Next to the modern wonders of Valencia. Amazing sights: architecture, fountains and gardens. Oh yes I almost forgot we also toured the market place and experienced first hand Valencian foods and wares.
It was amazing that we were able to pack so much into our full day tour. The tour was worth everything but then to meet and spend the day with Kate and her husband Vincente was worth more than money could buy.
Do not hesitate to tour with and meet these wonderful people.

Kate made sure she had a good understanding of what we were looking for before customizing a tour to suit our needs. We visited numerous villages and towns within the Valencia and Albacete areas including Requena (a small medieval town with a castle) and Fuentealbilla (a tiny place where Spanish Football legend Andres Iniesta was born).

However, the highlight of the day was Alcalá del Júcar – a tiny village of slightly more than 1000 people built in into the side of the mountain. The village has a castle, caves and a roman bridge but I feel it is the uniqueness of the architecture and landscape that make Alcalá so special.

Kate is very knowledgeable of Spanish history and culture and due to her unique situation is able to give both a local’s and foreigner’s perspective

We had a wonderful day with Kate and recommend her to anyone travelling to the Valencian region.

We had Kate as our private tour guide with another couple! What a great tour! Was picked up right at our hotel lobby and Kate introduced herself. Right off, I knew this was going to be an excellent and fun tour. She was so personable and made us feel at ease right away. Bubbly and enthusiatic! Kate was so knowledgeable. Her detail on history was so amazing and how she explained everything made it so easy to understand and very memorable. I wish I had her as a history teacher when I took all those social studies classes! She had a great sense of humor and made this tour a lot of fun. We saw everything we wanted to see and more! She made sure that we experienced all the unique food and drink that Valencia is known for! Will definitely use her again when back in Spain. Such a beautiful country!!

Kate is an expert on Spain. She knows history, demographics, where to go, where to stay, where to eat, where to shop, how best to get to those places and when we should do it. What else do you need in a guide? Oh, to be there every step of the way… And she is! Kate is a do-it-all gal. She scopes out what you’re looking for then comes back with a skeleton to discuss. Once the framework is laid, she fills in all the blanks. When it’s time to roll, she’s with you at every stop. She personally makes all the reservations, confirms those reservations and takes you to your reservation! There’s no big company that she’s working for or “local guide” that she’s handing you off to. She’s it and she’s perfect! Thank you Kate for a perfectly planned Spain vacation. It’s such a pleasure traveling with you. If I’m there again, I’ll be calling on you!
