Spain’s largest lagoon and protected nature park
L’Albufera Lagoon – located in a protected nature park – is the largest fresh water reservoir in Spain. Though only about 20 minutes from Valencia, L’Albufera has an entirely different landscape and ecosystem. During this tour, we will explore the lagoon, the rice paddies, and the wild bird park (with over 300 species of birds) by boat.
The traditional Spanish lunch, paella, is widely recognized as originating in L’Albufera, and this tour can include a stop in a local, traditional paella restaurant, depending on your preferred tour experience.
Because L’Albufera is so close to Valencia, you have several different excursion options to choose from. A boat ride in L’Albufera can be combined with the Valencia Full-Day City and Countryside Tour or be added on to the Half-Day City Highlights Tour. If you like being active, then doing this tour in a half-day by bike and by boat is another option. The terrain is flat and scenic, so travelers of all ages and abilities can enjoy the biking experience.
