Valencia’s best with authentic Spanish lunch
As Spain’s third largest city, there is certainly plenty to keep you intrigued here beyond the city’s must-sees. If you have a full day to spend with us, we would love to take you to our favorite places in Valencia and introduce you to the Spanish lifestyle with our favorite meal of the day: lunch.
There is a saying in Spanish that “we can not speak without a table between us”. Indeed, most of our conversing is done in Spain, is over the lunch table, between 1:00pm and 3:00pm every day. For your tour, you can choose a quick and light lunch stop of tapas – although that is more typical of dinner here rather than lunch – or you can choose an authentic Spanish dish, such as the Valencian paella or any other of our rice specialties here with excellent quality to price ratio. You can choose to have your guide join you for lunch or to pick you up afterwards, depending on your wishes. If you are a true “foodie” and would like a Michelin Star restaurant experience, your guide can make the reservation for you in one of our four Michelin* restaurants and leave you there for a delightfully affordable Michelin experience.
You will see the most emblematic highlights, but if you like to take more in, take more pictures and stroll leisurely from site to site with time to shop or smell the roses, sometimes literally, then take advantage of your time here.
You will be able to tick off all of Valencia’s must-sees, by the end of this well-packed tour. By car, we see the beautiful beach area, the new America’s Cup Port area, the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences – designed by Valencia’s own Santiago Calatrava – and our medieval gates, among other treats.
We will also explore the secrets of our pedestrian historical center, including Roman ruins, Saint Mary’s Cathedral, the Lonja Silk Exchange (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Modernista-style train station, and the central plaza, the Plaza Ayuntamiento.
This tour includes entrances to two of the main monuments of your choice, though we highly recommend the Lonja Silk Exchange because of its unique relationship to Valencia and the world. Other most popular choices are the Roman ruins at the L’Almoina Museum, Saint Mary’s Cathedral, or the Marquis of Dos Aguas Palace.
*Please note that this tour includes 1 – 2 hours of walking. Please let us know if you have mobility issues, and we would be happy to customize your tour to fit your needs.
